Born in South Africa and with quickly unfolding global ambitions, Clockwork is an award-winning communications agency, with offices in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg. 140 people strong, we are an independent agency that competes at the highest levels and works with some of the world’s largest, leading brands. With a pronounced strength in content, social, strategy and public relations, we’re not “a digital agency”, but we believe that today, everything is digital.
Our UK office opened its doors in Jan 2021 and is growing at a fast pace following a number of exciting client wins. Punching above our weight, Clockwork UK is notably the global social and production agency of record for Microsoft Xbox, and the content and influencer agency for Peroni (UK). With a handful of other clients and more joining the list every month, the London office is growing quickly.
While our UK presence is expanding, we believe strongly in South Africa’s creative talent. This is why we are launching CW//UK Studios: a multidisciplinary hub of excellence, built and designed to create world-class, industry-leading creative collateral, based in South Africa, and servicing clients out of the UK office. Our ambition is to build a team of brilliant people that have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to do great work in collaboration with our clients.
This team will be based in South Africa and employed by Clockwork SA, but it will work exclusively on global accounts in collaboration with our UK office.
About the role:
You will lead the creative direction for all output of CW//UK Studios. From creative conceptualisation, copywriting, presenting and refining – this is the ultimate all in one creative role.
The variety of work suits a curious mind. From conceptualising a content series for a global brand, to pitching a video walkthrough for a new Fintech start-up, the work ensures no two days are the same.
This individual should live and breath creativity, and have a knack for guiding and cracking big ideas. They should also be obsessed with ensuring that these ideas are brought to life beautifully.
You will work closely with the design and editorial leads to move from concept to execution, with shared responsibility for the outcome of the product.
You will need to be good at, and ideally enjoy:
- Taking briefs for a variety of different business types
- Driving a creative process in a healthy and collaborative manner
- Working hard, and aligning with our UK office’s startup culture
- Understanding and being proficient with all relevant modern advertising channels
- Creating work that is not only exciting, but also practical and effective
- Articulating the reasons behind your ideas and creating compelling narrative when collaborating with clients and colleagues
- Working with people and building solid relationships with your colleagues and clients
